Built under the Trebizond Empire in the 13th century, the Hagia Sophia Church was later converted into a mosque. Restored in the 19th century, Ayasofya was turned into a museum in 1964.
With its architecture and its elegant works of art, such as the frescoes, floors and domes, Trabzon Ayasofya (Hagia Sophia) Museum is looking forward to hosting its visitors amidst the attractive nature of the Black Sea region.
